Keto and Intermittent Fasting

Adding Intermittent Fasting

Adding intermittent fastingMy appetite is gone…It is really hard to find something to eat that I want.  I think that I’ve naturally gone into Intermittent fasting so I guess it is time to make it formal.  Keto and intermittent fasting go great together.  5/30/18 Loss: 10.3 lbs.
Intermittent fasting can be done in many different ways.

  • Skipping days
  • 12 on and 12 off
  • 6 on and 18 off
  • 4 on and 20 off

Or you can change it up any way you want it.  Eating during a 6 hours window and  18 hours taking in only water or non-caloric beverages (I like tea) seems best for me.  I have started having bulletproof coffee for breakfast and something to eat for dinner.  Losing my appetite, one major meal for me is about all I can eat.
Cup of coffee on table
Bulletproof Coffee:

Regular Coffee

2 Tbs. Kerry Gold Butter

1 Tbs. MCT oil

blend in blender

This is what I drink in the morning.  After doing research, I found that there are other variations, like with heavy whipping cream and coconut oil but this is what I like the best.  If you use MCT oil, be careful and start with 1t because it can effect your stomach.

10/24/18 Update

I have now been on the Keto, Intermittent fasting and apple cider vinegar lifestyle for 6 months.  I have lost 52 lbs. and have done a pretty much 2 lbs. lost per week.  This would not have been possible without being on Intermittent Fasting.  As I have gone down in weight I am not able to eat as many calories and still maintain my weight loss.  Being on Intermittent Fasting has made it a lot easier to cut down on my calories because I just kept eating less and less meals, til I am down to 1 meal a day now.

Still have 25 lbs. to lose yet but each time I hit a plateau I try something different to get it going again.

First, I went on Intermittent Fasting.

Second, I started dancing in the morning before I eat anything (crazy fast to 80’s dance music) then just ate walnuts, almonds and macadamia nuts.  Then I would have a meal at lunch time and that would be it for the day.

Third, I switched the meal and had it at lunch time and the nuts about an hour later.  Also added more water to my drinking instead of just ice tea.

Just try and come up with a different way of eating and drinking and exercising.  The change should help you with plateaus.

And yes, I did get tired of bulletproof coffee.

Note:  There are tons of recipes on the internet for Keto.
